These are double circuit brake valves. When the driver applies the brake using the pedal, a part of the two pistons moves inside the brake valve closing the valve exhaust and opening ducts inside.
It allows passing air pressure and delivers it to the rear and front brake systems.
The pressure quickly increases in the brake chambers and applies the force to the push rod, transferring the force to the S-Cam or air disc brakes.
When the driver removes the force at the brake valve, the inner spring returns to its original location allowing vent the air in the valve and in the delivery lines to the the exhaust hole.
It has two separate circuits for service and secondary breaking.
Breaking ability is maintained in case of one circuit fails.
The E-7 is a firewall mounted suspended pedal foot valve.
